Energy-Efficient Rambler

This secluded rambler on 5 acres of raw land was designed by Sandra Fugate of Fugate Design. The simple rectangular shape made for efficient design and building but belies the custom features and feel of the interior.

Some special features of this energy efficient home include structural insulated panels or SIPs, infloor hydronic heating, and raised heal trusses which allow for added attic insulation. The kitchen counter-tops were made from marmoleum, unusual but practical. Kitchen cabinets are made from bamboo by Beech Tree Woodworks, Olympia. Flooring is engineered bamboo.

A large back patio is protected by walls on three sides and has three large skylight glass panels overhead for natural light.
